The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde
International Musical Touring Production – No1 Theatre Venues
Lisa Jane spent the majority of 2008 and some months in 2012 on an international tour of “The Canterville Ghost” by Oscar Wilde, with TNT Theatre. Paul Stebbings directed the piece in collaboration with the American Drama Group. The show was a musical production incorporating several different musical styles with original music by Paul Flush. It was well received all over Europe, China and Japan. Lisa Jane played Virginia Otis, the young, moral, kind all American girl, who with her family moves to England in the hope of finding some history and culture, unlike what she is used to in the states. Along the way the family meet the Ghost of Canterville, who in his despair at their arrival, does everything possibly to drive them out of the house, with no success. Mainly touring No 1 venues, national theatres and cultural venues, the show was even invited to play for the troops at an American Naval Base in Japan.
Edward II By Christopher Marlowe
UK Theatre Tour – No1 and Outdoor Venues
Lisa Jane starred in “Edward II” with The Kent Theatre Company and toured No 1. Theatre venues, in and around Kent. She played Lady Margaret de Clare (as well as several other characters) in a production set in the 1940s.
The company focuses on classical texts, with strong ensemble performances. With a large cast of actors the play had the opportunity to indulge in threatening military scenes, strong performances and gruesome battle sequences with a truly apocalyptic feel. The play not only performed in theatres but also took on some outdoor venues. Canterbury Castle was the highlight of the tour as the company was allowed to perform inside the ruins and use the castle for inspiration during rehearsals.
