Early Life and Training
Lisa Jane Gregory hails from the border of Kent and South East London . At the age of four she enrolled at The Rohan Dance Studios taking ballet classes and would later go on to study tap too, taking several of the Royal Academy of Dance examinations. With The Rohan she performed at various Kent and London venues including The Orchard Theatre and The Place. Later she went on to sing and dance at one of the Royal Festival Halls’ summer concerts. Singing became Lisa Jane’s new love and she began to study classical and musical theatre singing. After several years The Rohan Dance Studios became part of The Bexley Centre for Music and Dance, recently, this has become part of Doreen Bird’s Dance School and is now known as The Bird College for music, dance and theatre. At the age of fourteen Lisa began singing in local classical concerts which she continued doing for many years.
By the age of eighteen Lisa Jane added acting to her repertoire and was accepted to Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama where she studied American Theatre Arts at BA (Hons) Degree level. This course looked at a new area of theatre previously uncovered in the UK. Here she trained in Method Acting, American Practitioners, American Dialects, Backstage Work and Musical Theatre. The course covered the theatre from every possible angle although it specialised in acting and performance. It also included a transfer year to the U.S.A. to Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas.
Since graduating from Rose Bruford College Lisa Jane has continued her training in various areas. She recently studied Shakespeare (including Classical Acting) at The Central School of Speech and Drama with Yolanda Vasquez. Lisa Jane has also become certified in stage combat with The British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat, specifically in Unarmed Combat and with Rapier and Dagger.
Theatre Credits
Since leaving Rose Bruford College Lisa Jane has been involved in several stage productions, (each varying in style and genre), corporate work and even a music video. She was involved in “The Sister Wendy Musical – Postcards From God” when the production was still in its infancy, directed by Marcus Reeves. She played Sister Melissa (the ballet dancing nun) which toured London Fringe Venues including The Battersea Arts Centre.
She sung and danced in a charity event run by ATA Productions which was performed at The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, Covent Garden. The show raised money for children with disabilities and although it had a story line was really a musical theatre tribute show.
Lisa Jane also performed at The Edinburgh Festival in the comedy “Ready, Steady, Date” (a play about speed dating) where she played Robyn, a neurotic New Yorker, who travels to London to find love, but is too absorbed in her own world to listen to anyone but herself.
In 2006 she performed her own work at one of Stand Up Drama’s London Bites events. She performed a piece called “Platforms” about one commuter’s obsession with other peoples’ shoes.
Lisa Jane spent the majority of 2008 on an international tour of “The Canterville Ghost” by Oscar Wilde, with TNT Theatre. Paul Stebbings directed the piece in collaboration with the American Drama Group. The show was a musical production incorporating several different musical styles with original music by Paul Flush. It was well received all over Europe, China and Japan. Lisa Jane played Virginia Otis, the young, moral, kind all American girl, who with her family moves to England in the hope of finding some history and culture, unlike what she is used to in the states. Along the way the family meet the Ghost of Canterville, who in his despair at their arrival, does everything possibly to drive them out of the house, with no success. Mainly touring No 1 venues, national theatres and cultural venues, the show was even invited to play for the troops at an American Naval Base in Japan.
Most recently Lisa Jane starred in “Edward II” with The Kent Theatre Company and touring No 1. Theatre venues, in and around Kent. She played Lady Margaret de Clare (as well as several other characters) in a production set in the 1940s. The company itself is relatively new and focuses on classical texts, with strong ensemble performances.

Made on a budget of £45 the film took The Cannes Film Festival 2009 by storm and became an overnight sensation, proving that quality films can be made on a budget.
